THANKSGIVING FOR
40 DAYS OF FASTING & PRAYER - AMCF ALL AFRICA 2008 CONFERENCE

General Njuki Mwaniki sent the following words and prayer to mark the close of the 40 Days of Fasting and Prayer for the AMCF All Africa 2008 Conference.  The Chaplaincy, MCFK and MMKenya sought the Lord's guidance and direction in 40 days of fasting and prayer, from Sep1 to Oct 10, 2006. They will join in a thanksgiving Holy Communion in all their Churches on the 15th of Oct. In thanks for your willingness to remember the planning team, and fellowship with them during these 40days the following is posted for your information.

Dear Sisters and Brethren!

Today October 10, 2006 is a bank holiday here in Kenya dedicated for minding our brothers. And what a coincidence, that it also marks our 40th day of prayer and fasting. It’s been a long haul- what can we say:

             “Praise be to you, O Lord God Almighty, from everlasting to everlasting. Yours, O Lord is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor. You are worthy our Lord and God to receive glory and honour for you have been good to us as a fellowship and to our friends and sisters and brothers world wide.

You are holy and you will always remain holy. As we gather this Sunday (15 October 2006), O Lord God Almighty in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, let our thanks to you and to all the fellowships and individuals who have joined us in prayer for the last 40 days arrive in heaven and be acceptable to you.

We have sought you O Lord, sometimes with all our hearts. We know you think good thoughts of us and you have told us if we seek you, we will find you; and if we ask you will give us what ask. We believe now and know that you will guide us in this journey of the growth of AMCF in our beloved Continent and you will provide us with abundance wisdom, patience and encouragement to prepare for the 2008 conference.

So we profoundly thank you O lord God Almighty for you are good and your mercies and love endure for ever and ever! Amen.”

CALL TO FAST AND PRAY BY MAJ GEN MWANIKI – AMCF VP EAST AFRICA (HORN) REGION

You are invited to join in 40 days of fasting and prayer from Sep1 to Oct 10, 2006 - see below

Dear Brethren and Sisters,

Glory, honour and praise be to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who has given us this privilege of hosting the 2008 Africa Conference. Our preliminary Pray and Plan was held in Nov 2005 and arising from it we were able to issue the initiating guidance towards conference preps. The critical planning phase commences Nov'06 and we profoundly need the Lords guidance on the following issues:

1.     Conference Theme

2.     Conference Structure

3.     Prayers, Praise and Worship

4.     Presentations, Resource Persons and facilitators. 

5.     Secretariat, Operations, Logistics (mainly travel and accom) and Protocol

6.     Partners and Delegates

7.     Finance and Mobilisation

The Chaplaincy, MCFK and MMKenya is seeking the Lord's guidance and direction in 40 days of fasting and prayer in all the above issues, from Sep1 to Oct 10, 2006 with a thanksgiving Holy Communion in all our Churches on the 15th of Oct. We therefore humbly request you to remember us, and fellowship with us, during these 40days.

The Lord has already started performing miracles towards the Conference support and all the 300 hundred Kenyan delegates eating at the Safari Park Hotel and accommodation at other Hostels has been funded; praise the Lord!!!  The Secretariat will shift to a permanent Military Christian Center by July '07; Praise the Lord and keep on praying for you have not even heard or seen what the Lord will accomplish. Amen.

Prayer Guide for PRAYER GUIDE

40 DAYS OF PRAYER AND FASTING FOR THE 2008 AMCF AFRICA CONFERENCE

The 40 days of prayer and fasting came out from the prayer and planning process led by the AMCF Vice President Major General Njuki Mwaniki upon the realization that "without God we can do nothing" and the enormous task and responsibility of hosting an all Africa AMCF conference under conditions of scarce resources and limited organizational structures could only be achieved through the grace of God. Upon this understanding, therefore, the 40 days of prayer and fasting was called to seek God's guidance and presence throughout the conference processes. Our ultimate desire for the Conference is that all accomplishments will be through the grace of God in order to bring glory to Him alone.

How to Fast and Pray

  1. For group prayers, we propose a prayer chain to last for 40 days so that someone is fasting and praying everyday.- This is to be organized by the local fellowship.
  2. Individuals can choose certain number of days per week to set aside for prayer and fasting.
  3. Individuals may also pray for continuous periods as they are guided by the Holy Spirit.

WEEK 1 (1 - 7 Sep 2006)

Prayer Focus:- Repentance, Thanksgiving and the planning process

  • Prayer of Repentance
  • Thank God that the Kenya DOD has given approval for the MCFK to host the 2008 AMCF Africa Conference
  • Kenya DOD has also agreed to subsidise Kenya delegates to the conference.
  • Thank God for the existing excellent relationship between the Kenya DOD, The Kenya Chaplaincy department, the Military Ministry Kenya and the Military Christian Fellowship of Kenya.
  • Pray for the committee of Kenya chaplains as they deliberate of the proposed Conference theme and outline.

WEEK 2 (8 - 14 Sep 2006)

Prayer Focus: - Conference preparation and finances

The conference is planned for 500 resident delegates and a possible 200 visiting delegates. 300 will be Kenya delegates while 100 will come from other African countries (2 delegates from each country).

  •   Pray that God will bring the right people who will be willing to be used of God to impact the continent of Africa
  •     Pray that God will provide sufficient funds/scholarships to support the African delegates

 WEEK 3 (15 - 21 Sep 2006)

Prayer Focus:- Conference Partners and Facilitators

The conference will attract 100 ministry partners and facilitators from all over the world who will address felt needs which are peculiar to Africa as far as equipping the delegates to impact the continent of Africa.

  • Pray for Ministry partners as they prepare to contribute in their unique areas Pray for facilitators that God will use them to deliver His message for the season
  • Pray for God?s anointing over the speakers and the facilitators

WEEK 4 (22 - 28 Sep 2006)

Prayer Focus:- Conference outcome

The aim of the conference is to mobilize the African soldier for the gospel bearing in mind that the spiritual impact on the African Soldier will translate positively to the whole continent.

  • Pray that the delegates will be receptive
  • Pray that the conference will have an eternal impact on the delegates
  • Pray that the delegates will have useful contacts for networking and fellowship
  • Pray that the Ministry Partners will connect with the delegates
  • Pray for journey mercies

WEEK 5 (29 Sep - 5 Oct 2006)

Prayer Focus: - Conference Organization

Military Christian Fellowship of Kenya will be organizing as well as hosting the 2008 AMCF Africa Conference even though they neither have full time staff nor a functional AFCF Secretariat.? An office block is currently under construction to house both the AMCF Secretariat and the Military Ministry offices.

  • Thanking God for Kenya DOD accepting to take over the completion of this project.
  • Pray that the AMCF Secretariat will be furnished, staffed and fully functional one year before the Conference.
  • ?Pray for AMCF Vice President for Eastern & Northern Africa, Major General Njuki Mwaniki that God will grant him wisdom as he provides leadership to the Conference planning process and implementation.
  • Pray for brethren involved in the planning, organizing and facilitating the conference that God will grant them grace and favour.

WEEK 6 (6 - 10 Oct 2006)

Thanking God for blessings and opportunity to fast and pray.

Prayer Focus:- Post Conference strategy

The Conference will be a momentum builder whose aim is to stimulate fellowship and evangelistic activities among military men and women in the African continent.

  • Pray for the conference planers and partners to come up with a viable and sustainable post conference strategy for Africa.
  • Pray that the delegates will each catch a vision for their individual countries and that they will be able to both articulate and share the vision
  • Pray for Ministry partners to develop ways and means of supporting the delegates? vision for the individual countries.
  • Pray for the African Presidential Bench as they meet in the post conference consultative council that vision for African shall be born.
